The hum of the sewing machine was a constant, irritating buzz in her ears. Claire ran the needle over the fabric, forcing herself to focus on the task. Her hands trembled, making the delicate stitching difficult. The “Dream Weaver Dress,” her masterpiece, was being sold in boutiques across town, under someone else's label.

The thought of them making profit from her work. She bit her lip until it bled. She felt a burning need to rip all of her work, and throw it in the trash.

She had to get it out of her head, but it wouldn't let go. She swallowed hard, struggling to keep her emotions locked in.
